"Amidst the stark beauty of the natural world, we awaken to our inner wild and rediscover resilience. This journey invites you to embrace your strength and reconnect with your essence, making nature not merely a place to visit but a part of who you are."

RECONNECT WITH YOUR WILD THING

Our modern world has taught us how to be comfortable, but in that comfort, many have lost connection to something essential: their inner knowing. Their breath. Their body’s signals. Their natural strength.

This isn’t about biohacking your way to health. It’s about peeling back the layers of who the world told you to be… and reconnecting with who you’ve always been underneath it all.

We use the elements—breath, water, cold, nature—not as a challenge, but as connection. As a way to come back into rhythm with yourself and the natural world.

We believe the elements teach us everything we need to know. Our mission is to bring people back into natural rhythm—where they can slow down, reset, and come home to the strength and clarity that’s always been inside.

Because when you step into the cold—not to fight it, but to meet it—you realise…

You’ve been powerful all along.

"The river's cold exposes the complex layers of our character, unearthing both our strengths and the underlying pains that shape us. It challenges our breathing, thoughts, and heartbeat, requiring continuous observation and dedication. Gaining a deep understanding of these innermost layers is essential for mastering our responses and turning insights into lasting resilience." - Leah Scott

MEET LEAH SCOTT..

Based in Jindabyne and Thredbo in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, Australia since 2016, Leah knows the spectacular wilderness of the Australian Alps like the back of her hand. She is an experienced alpine hiker and backcountry snowboarder. Leah’s second home is the icy waters of the Thredbo River and during winter you’ll find her, ice axe in hand, enjoying her daily cold exposure ritual!

Over the years has trained herself in the mountains in the cold to see things in people that others miss.  Its an internal guidance, sense, paying attention, presence and it gives her a unique ability to train people deeper and to see when they have pushed themselves (or not enough) in the cold.

What makes for a good leader is one, she will never ask you to do something that she has never done before - but that is not much.

The 3 Elements of Wild Things Anatomy

Wild Things Anatomy is founded on the philosophy that engaging deeply with nature and practicing mindful breathwork are essential for personal transformation and holistic well-being. Our mission is to guide individuals through experiences that align with the natural world, fostering resilience, health, and profound spiritual awareness. By integrating these elements into daily practice, we empower participants to unlock their full potential and live in harmony with both their inner self and the environment.

  • At Wild Things Anatomy, we emphasize the profound impact of breathwork on health and wellness, recognizing it as a crucial element in our transformative practices. Breathwork goes beyond simple relaxation techniques; it fundamentally alters our biochemical states, enhancing bodily functions at the cellular level.

Chemical and Biochemical Effects of Breathwork Through targeted breathing exercises, we can significantly improve our body’s biochemical dynamics. By increasing carbon dioxide tolerance and enhancing oxygen uptake, breathwork optimizes metabolic processes at the mitochondrial level. This optimization boosts overall health, including our ability to modulate the immune system on demand, showcasing breathwork's profound impact on bodily functions.

Regulating Inflammation Through Breath Breathwork's ability to regulate inflammation is particularly significant. By stimulating the vagus nerve, targeted breathing improves vagal tone, which directly reduces inflammation within the body. Since many common ailments stem from chronic inflammation, learning to manage inflammation through breathwork offers a potent means to alleviate physical discomfort and prevent inflammation-related diseases.

Cultivating Mental and Emotional Resilience Our daily breathwork practice serves more than physical health; it's a gateway to inner peace, presence, and awareness. For those battling anxiety or stress, breathwork provides a more effective solution than conventional remedies. By becoming intimately familiar with your nervous system through conscious breathing, you can build resilience, allowing you to manage your emotional and physiological responses effectively.

Enhancing Mental Clarity and Emotional Release Furthermore, regular breathwork can facilitate enhanced mental clarity and the release of emotional tension. This practice can lead to significant improvements in overall mental health, helping to release stress and improve concentration and mood.

At Wild Things Anatomy, we harness the transformative power of breath to equip you with the tools for self-mastery and holistic well-being. Whether you're seeking physical healing, mental clarity, or emotional balance, our breathwork practices offer a foundational step towards achieving a balanced and enriched life.

  • At Wild Things Anatomy, the element of cold is not just a condition to endure but a pathway to profound personal transformation. Embracing the cold through guided immersions is a cornerstone of our approach, deeply integrated into the fabric of our programs. This practice extends beyond mere physical endurance, delving into the realms of mental clarity and spiritual awakening.

Physical Challenge and Resilience Cold immersion presents a physical challenge that stimulates the body in unique ways. When you step into the cold, your body's immediate response is to protect its core temperature. This reaction boosts circulation, enhances immune function, and increases metabolic rate. Over time, regular exposure to cold water can lead to improved resilience, not just against the cold itself but also in facing daily stresses and challenges. It teaches the body to adapt swiftly and efficiently, enhancing overall health and vitality.

Mental Clarity and Focus The shock of cold water also sharpens the mind. It cuts through mental fog, forcing an instant and total focus on the present moment. This is not just about the physical sensation of cold but about commanding your attention away from distractions and anxieties. The practice of entering cold water can be meditative, providing a clear space in which to cultivate a calm, focused mind. Participants often report enhanced mental clarity and an increased ability to concentrate after regular sessions.

Spiritual Awakening and Inner Strength Beyond the physical and mental, the cold can invigorate the spirit. The act of willingly entering cold water is a practice in courage and determination. It challenges participants to confront their perceived limits and to push beyond them. This can be a deeply empowering experience, fostering a sense of inner strength and resilience. The repetitive nature of this practice helps individuals not only to become comfortable with discomfort but to find joy and exhilaration in the challenge. It's about tapping into an elemental force, connecting with the environment in a fundamental way, and rediscovering a primal strength that modern life often obscures.

Incorporating cold into our programs at Wild Things Anatomy is about harnessing these physical, mental, and spiritual benefits to offer a holistic approach to personal growth. Each plunge is an act of transformation, a step toward understanding and mastering the self within the embrace of nature.

  • At Wild Things Anatomy, we champion the instinctive human connection to nature, a bond that has historically been central to our evolution and adaptation as a species. Engaging with nature isn't just an activity; it's a return to the environment that shaped us, fostering profound health and wellness benefits.

The Power of Nature Therapy Nature therapy is about making a conscious effort to reconnect with the Earth. This can be achieved through various activities that immerse you in the natural world—whether it’s walking barefoot, swimming in a river or ocean, hiking through the bush, or simply enjoying the playful messiness of getting muddy.

Scientifically Backed Benefits Research underscores the health benefits of spending time in nature. These include the prevention and treatment of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, enhanced sleep quality, improved heart rate variability, and positive changes to our microbiome—the vast community of genetic material living on and inside us. These activities not only enhance our physical health but also bring about a natural tranquility and mental clarity that can be transformative.

Mental Health Enhancements Being in nature inherently includes an element of play and discovery, which significantly boosts our mental health. It reduces stress, enhances mood, and increases overall happiness. Studies consistently show that engaging with nature in these ways can have a lasting positive impact on our psychological well-being.

A Call to Action from Leah Scott "We need to rediscover this indigenous perspective that we are part of nature. We should be symbiotic with nature, not separate from it. Nature runs things; it is sustaining life on earth," says Leah Scott. This philosophy underpins our approach, reminding us that to truly thrive, we must align ourselves with the natural world.

So, take this moment as a gentle nudge—step away from the screen, and immerse yourself in the nurturing embrace of nature. Whether it's a stroll through a local park or a weekend getaway in the wild, reconnecting with nature is a step toward reclaiming your vitality and joy.

MY STORY

A TRANSFORMATIVE JOURNEY TO PURPOSE & FREEDOM..

My personal journey through the turmoil of divorce in 2015 marked the beginning of a profound transformation. What felt like being plunged into a dark abyss—battling anxiety, panic attacks, and depression—eventually became a powerful catalyst for growth and self-discovery. During this challenging time, the cold waters of the Thredbo River became my refuge, a place where I could confront my challenges and reconnect with my true essence, even amid the snow.

Life's challenges are not merely obstacles but opportunities for growth and self-realisation. It's easy to be overwhelmed by despair and to lose sight of hope, but these trials are part of our human experience. They compel us to evolve and embrace a more optimal way of living. My approach to cold exposure training harnesses this philosophy, blending it with my expertise in breathwork and mediataion to create a transformative weekend program. This program is designed to help individuals tap into their inherent strength and embrace a sense of limitlessness.
